The Indomitable Lionesses, who won their first WAFCON title after defeating Malawi 3-0 in the final, were represented in several areas of the tournament’s standout lineup.
Cameroon goalkeeper Michaely Bihina was selected between the posts, while Myriam Nyadjou made the defensive line.
In midfield, Monique Ngock earned a place in the team, while forward Marie Ngah completed Cameroon’s four-player representation.
Malawi also had a strong presence in the selection. Temwa Chawinga was named in midfield, while her sister Tabitha Chawinga was included among the forwards.
Algeria had two players selected, with Ines Belloumou and Marine Dafeur making the team. Morocco were represented by Nohaila Benzina and Hanane Aït El Haj, while Zambia’s Barbra Banda completed the forward line.
The Best XI therefore reflected the performances of several of the teams that made a strong impression during the tournament.
Cameroon’s inclusion of four players comes after a historic WAFCON campaign that ended with the country claiming its first continental women’s title.
The team defeated Malawi 3-0 in the final in Rabat, with Marie Ngah Manga scoring twice and Naomi Eto adding the third goal.
Cameroon’s goalkeeper Bihina was also influential in the team’s knockout-stage run, including the quarter-final victory over Nigeria that ended the Super Falcons’ defence of their title.
Cameroon coach Valentine Nguele was named head coach of the Best XI following the team’s impressive tournament.
