The operations, conducted on August 20 and 21, formed part of the military’s ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and protect communities across the North-West.
In Kaduna State, troops of Sector 1 responded to a distress call following the abduction of a 43-year-old man around Awon Community in Kachia Local Government Area.
The troops quickly moved into the area and pursued the kidnappers into the surrounding bushes.
Faced with pressure from the advancing troops, the terrorists abandoned their captive and fled into the bush.
The victim was subsequently rescued and reunited with his family.
The military operation came as security forces continued to respond to reports of kidnapping and terrorist activities in communities across the North-West.
Terrorists attack Sokoto community
In a separate operation in Sokoto State, troops of Sector 2, working with local security personnel, responded to a terrorist attack on Kwaren Gamba Village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area on August 21.
The troops engaged the attackers and forced them to withdraw from the community in disarray.
The security forces then pursued the fleeing terrorists.
During the pursuit, one terrorist was neutralised, while troops recovered several items from the scene.
The recovered items included two mobile phones, cash, an ATM card and recharge cards, among other materials.
The military said the operations reflected the continued efforts of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to deny terrorists freedom of action within its area of responsibility.
The Joint Task Force also reassured residents that its troops would continue responding to emerging security threats and sustaining operations against terrorist groups across the North-West.
It urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely and credible information that could assist ongoing operations.
The latest operations come amid sustained military activities across the region aimed at rescuing kidnapped persons, disrupting terrorist movements and creating safer conditions for communities.
