Rescue workers remove rubble from a residential building destroyed in a Russian airstrike.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said the attack damaged the bridge’s road surface and trolleybus cables. No casualties were reported, while traffic was halted and tailbacks continued for a third day.
NORTHERN BRIDGE DAMAGED
The Northern Bridge is one of six major road bridges crossing the Dnipro River in Kyiv.
The latest attack came a day after Russian strikes caused three of the capital’s six road bridges to be fully or partially closed, adding to transportation problems across the city.

The disruption has affected movement through parts of Kyiv as authorities deal with damage to key infrastructure.
RUSSIA CONFIRMS STRIKE
Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed that its forces carried out the latest attack.
The ministry claimed the bridge was being used to facilitate troop movements and military cargo deliveries for Ukraine’s armed forces.
Videos circulating on social media appeared to show the moment of impact as vehicles were crossing the bridge, including footage purportedly recorded by a driver’s dashcam.
WAR CONTINUES TO INTENSIFY
The strike comes as aerial attacks between Russia and Ukraine continue to intensify.
Ukraine has targeted Russian oil industry facilities and businesses, while Russia has continued attacks against Ukrainian cities using ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones.
The wider conflict remains largely deadlocked along a roughly 1,250-kilometre front stretching across northern, eastern and southern Ukraine.
MOLDOVA RAISES ALARM
The latest attacks have also heightened concerns in neighbouring Moldova.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu said Russian air attack weapons had entered Moldovan airspace and exploded on Moldovan territory.

She condemned the incident and warned that the war was increasingly affecting Moldova and posing a wider security concern.
Ukraine’s air force said Russia had launched Banderol cruise missiles toward the Odesa region, which shares a long land border with Moldova.
UKRAINIAN DRONES STRIKE RUSSIAN CITY
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones struck the Russian city of Kaluga overnight, according to the regional governor.
Apartment buildings were damaged and people were injured, while authorities reported that 13 drones had been shot down over the region during the night.
The developments highlight the continuing exchange of aerial attacks between the two countries as the war enters another period of heightened activity.
