The holding, reported at 24,835,481 PSG Financial Services shares, was valued using the company's share price of R33.39 on Friday, putting the stake at roughly $51 million at the exchange rate cited in the latest report.
Gouws has led PSG Financial Services as CEO since 2013, overseeing a business that operates across wealth management, asset management and insurance.
FROM EQUITY RESEARCH TO PSG'S TOP OFFICE
Gouws' career in financial services stretches back several decades.
He began his professional career as an investment and banking analyst at Senekal, Mouton & Kitshoff before becoming a partner at the firm.
He later joined UBS Investment Bank, where he held a series of senior positions in South Africa and London. His responsibilities eventually included leadership roles covering equities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
PSG Financial Services says Gouws joined the company in 2012 before becoming chief executive the following year. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree and is a chartered accountant.
HIS WEALTH IS CLOSELY TIED TO PSG
The value of Gouws' stake means movements in PSG Financial Services' share price can significantly affect the market value of his company holdings.
The latest report also highlighted his compensation structure, noting that most of his remuneration in the most recent financial year came through bonuses, shares and options rather than fixed salary.
Such arrangements are common among senior executives of listed companies, where part of compensation can be linked to company performance and shareholder returns.
PSG HAS EXPANDED BEYOND ITS ORIGINAL BUSINESS
PSG Financial Services has developed from its roots as an advice-focused financial services business into a broader group serving clients through wealth management, asset management and insurance.
The company says it has the largest adviser network in South Africa and Namibia and remains listed on the Johannesburg and Namibian stock exchanges.
Its 2026 investor information shows recurring headline earnings per share increased by 34 percent to 135 cents for the financial year ended February 2026.
COMPANY REMAINS A SIGNIFICANT LISTED FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP
PSG Financial Services has continued to trade as a publicly listed company while making changes to its international listing structure.
In August 2026, shareholders approved the voluntary withdrawal of the company's ordinary shares from the Official Market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. The delisting took effect after market close on August 31, while the company remained listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and Namibian Stock Exchange.
For Gouws, his substantial personal investment in PSG Financial Services places him among the company's notable individual shareholders and links a significant portion of his publicly visible wealth to the performance of the business he has led for more than a decade.
