Government officials said ongoing engagement with university stakeholders is aimed at addressing some of the longstanding issues that have contributed to industrial disputes in the sector. These include funding, staff welfare, working conditions, and the implementation of agreements between the government and university unions.
The Presidency emphasized the importance of maintaining constructive dialogue with ASUU and other stakeholders, noting that education remains a critical component of Nigeria’s development agenda.
The government also highlighted the need for greater investment in tertiary education, improved infrastructure, and better working conditions for academic and non-academic staff.
