The victims were buried on Tuesday after armed men reportedly invaded the community during the night and attacked residents in their homes. Several others who sustained injuries are receiving treatment in hospitals.
During the protest, women from Bin-Per, in the Ruff area of Kombun District, marched while holding leaves and called for urgent action to protect residents from further attacks.
One of the protesters, Ladi Joshua, said the killings had devastated families in the community, with husbands, children and other relatives among those lost.
The President of the Mwaghavul Youth Movement, Kyesmang Jonathan, confirmed that 24 people had been buried. He called on the government and security agencies to strengthen protection for vulnerable communities and prevent further attacks.
Jonathan also urged authorities to identify and arrest those responsible for the killings.
The African Democratic Congress Secretary in Plateau State, Jude Eli Dakur, condemned the attack, describing it as unacceptable and calling for immediate security intervention in Mangu and other vulnerable areas.
Dakur also urged security agencies to improve intelligence gathering, surveillance and rapid response to distress calls in communities facing repeated attacks.
The latest incident has renewed concerns over the security situation in parts of Plateau State, with residents calling for stronger measures to prevent further loss of lives.
