Osun Election: Ede Residents Turn Out Early to Vote

Voters were seen arriving at different polling locations from as early as 6:30 a.m., with some already waiting for electoral officials to verify their details and commence the voting process.
Vehicles were also observed conveying voters and some National Youth Service Corps members to various polling units ahead of the exercise.
Security personnel were deployed across Ede North and Ede South Local Government Areas, with checkpoints mounted in line with the restriction on vehicular movement during the election.
Police officers and personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were present at several polling units before the arrival of some electoral officials and materials.
Local election observers were also seen monitoring activities at some polling locations.
At some of the units visited, accreditation had commenced, while INEC officials were yet to display the names of eligible voters at other locations.
Polling units visited included locations in Sagba Agbogunde, Adogbe and CAC wards in Ede North, as well as Orita Alajue, Obalaoye and Agip wards in Ede South.
Ede is the hometown of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking another term in office on the Accord Party platform.
The early turnout in Ede comes amid tight security across the state as voters participate in the governorship election.
