Kane received his second European Golden Shoe in Munich on Wednesday after finishing as the leading scorer across Europe’s top domestic leagues.
The England captain scored 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances last season and helped Bayern Munich secure the German Cup, completing a domestic double.
His scoring form also continued at international level. Kane scored six goals at the 2026 World Cup, taking his total at the tournament to 14 and making him England’s leading World Cup scorer. Overall, he finished the season with 73 goals for club and country.
Kane said the latest Golden Shoe felt even better than the first one he won after his debut season with Bayern.
The striker acknowledged that the Ballon d’Or decision is beyond his control but believes he did everything possible to put himself among the leading contenders.
He also helped Bayern reach the Champions League semifinals, where they were beaten by eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain.
At international level, Kane and England also reached the World Cup semifinals before losing 2-1 to Argentina.
The 33-year-old is now hoping his performances will be enough to earn him football's most prestigious individual award when the Ballon d’Or is presented in London in late October.
Kane is also preparing for discussions over a possible extension of his Bayern contract, which is currently scheduled to expire in 2027.
