The deaths were confirmed on Sunday as authorities responded to flooding, damaged infrastructure and submerged vehicles across parts of northeastern Spain.
TWO DEATHS CONFIRMED
Catalan leader Salvador Illa confirmed the death of a man in Tordera after a wall collapsed.
Another person died in Montornès del Vallès, according to firefighters.
Emergency services were searching for a missing person in Pineda de Mar, north of Barcelona.
RED ALERT ISSUED
Catalan authorities had issued a red weather alert and urged residents to remain indoors amid warnings of extremely severe weather.

Heavy rainfall flooded homes and left vehicles submerged in communities around Barcelona, including Bellvitge and Cornellà.
The rainfall also caused major disruption to transportation and other activities in the region.
TRAVEL AND EVENTS AFFECTED
Local train services were disrupted, while flights at Barcelona airport were also affected by the weather.
Several public events were cancelled as authorities dealt with the consequences of the flooding.
Emergency services remained active as further heavy rain threatened parts of the region.
