Dollar to Naira Exchange Rate Today, February 25, 2026
The Dollar to Naira exchange rate remained relatively stable on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, amid continued foreign exchange market reforms and tighter currency management by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Market participants and traders closely watched both official and parallel (black market) rates, as the naira maintained composure against the U.S. dollar.

In the official foreign exchange window, the naira opened trading at around ₦1,351 per $1, with minor intra-day fluctuations as liquidity levels remained healthy. Analysts say the relative calm in this segment reflects ongoing policy support and improved forex supply at authorized dealers.

Meanwhile, activity in the parallel market showed the dollar exchanging hands at roughly ₦1,410 to ₦1,420 per $1 in major commercial centres. The gap between official and black market rates, though still present, has narrowed compared to historical extremes, largely due to better foreign exchange availability and harmonisation efforts across different market segments.

Forex traders point out that demand pressures, especially from importers and individuals seeking foreign currency for tuition and travel, continue to influence the informal exchange rate. At the same time, interventions and policy signals from the CBN have played a role in limiting sharp volatility across markets.

As of today, investors and businesses are anticipating how upcoming trade flows, oil revenues, and global currency movements might shape the naira’s performance against the dollar in the coming weeks. Continued monitoring of both official and parallel rates remains critical for planning financial activities that depend on foreign exchange pricing.
