Nathaniel made the promises during an interaction with journalists in Yola, where he presented agriculture as a major part of his proposed development agenda.
AGRICULTURE AT THE CENTRE OF ECONOMIC PLAN
Nathaniel said Adamawa has significant agricultural potential that could be better developed through investment in production, processing and distribution.
He identified livestock and rice production as areas with opportunities for creating jobs and generating additional economic activity within the state.
The candidate said his proposed approach would place greater emphasis on processing and adding value to agricultural products rather than focusing mainly on the production of raw materials.
PLANS FOR LIVESTOCK DEVELOPMENT
Nathaniel also proposed greater investment in the livestock sector, including the development of modern facilities for slaughtering, storage and processing.
He said stronger investment in the livestock value chain could create opportunities in areas such as meat processing, dairy production, leather manufacturing and other related industries.
He also pointed to major cattle markets in Adamawa, including the Mubi market, as facilities that could contribute more to the state's economy if properly developed.
Nathaniel linked the development of the livestock sector to the need for improved security, saying insecurity has affected some grazing and livestock-producing areas.
RICE PRODUCTION AND JOB CREATION
On rice production, the SDP candidate said locally produced rice from parts of Adamawa is already attracting buyers from outside the state.
He specifically mentioned agricultural activity around Tingno in Lamurde Local Government Area and Gurin in Fufore Local Government Area.
Nathaniel said that, if elected, his administration would establish a major rice processing company as part of efforts to expand the agricultural value chain and create employment opportunities for young people.
CARGO AIRPORT AND OTHER PROPOSALS
Nathaniel also proposed the establishment of a cargo airport in Mubi, saying such infrastructure could support agricultural and livestock trade and make it easier for businesses to access the market.
He said the development of major economic infrastructure could help attract investors and increase commercial activity in the state.
Beyond agriculture, Nathaniel has also outlined proposals covering education, healthcare, transportation, electricity and security.
Among his other promises are measures aimed at improving healthcare access and encouraging the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) for commercial vehicles and tricycles.
CAMPAIGN PROMISES AHEAD OF 2027
Nathaniel is one of the politicians seeking to govern Adamawa State in the 2027 election.
His campaign agenda places agriculture, livestock, local processing and job creation among its major areas of focus.
The proposals remain campaign commitments and would depend on electoral victory, funding, policy implementation and other factors if he is elected.
For Adamawa, where agriculture and livestock are important parts of the local economy, the campaign has placed greater attention on how those sectors could be developed to create more economic opportunities within the state.
