WAEC announced the development on Friday, August 21, advising candidates to use its digital platform to obtain their certificates.
How to access the 2026 WAEC certificate
Candidates can follow these steps:
1. Visit the official WAEC Digital Certificate Platform. [WAEC Digital Certificate Platform.
2. Create an account or log in if you already have one.
3. Provide the required information to verify your identity.
4. After verification, access your available certificate.
5. The certificate can then be reviewed, saved or downloaded through the platform.
WAEC said its digital certificate service allows candidates to access, request, confirm and share digital copies of their certificates. The platform also provides a way to recover a forgotten examination number.
The examination body also advised candidates to use its official digital certificate application, which is available through the Google Play Store, to access their certificates.
The digital service is part of WAEC’s wider move away from relying solely on manual certificate collection. The council launched its digital certificate service across its member countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia, Liberia and Sierra Leone, earlier this year.
WAEC’s official platform says certificates available through the service can be accessed securely, shared with institutions and confirmed by organisations that need to verify them.
Candidates should therefore use only WAEC’s official platforms when accessing their certificates and avoid unofficial websites or individuals claiming to provide the service.
